BATU  LINTANG  GOVERNMENT  QUARTER  NO: 117

Where the Wong family lived 1958 to 1961

1 Km away from here was the Batu Lintang Concentration Camp of the Japanese  during WW2 1942-1945

How the same location looks today.  House No:117 was long gone. Replaces it is now the Fire Department.

The red seed tree still growing strong. But a cripping plant (parasitic plants)has grown on it.  I hope this tree is protected and live long enought for my grandchildren to return one day to collect the red seed as I used to do in the 1960'

The living rooms, dining areas, kitchens and bathrooms featured large screenless windows that let cooling breezes flow through. On hot, still days and nights, ceiling fans helped make these government quarters livable. Only the bedrooms were screened, making it possible to sleep without mosquito netting much of the time.

Government houses are grouped Division I down to Division IV.
