CENTURY KINGDOM HOTEL of Bukit
A hotel with a meaning name to our family
This is the hotel we spend the previous night in Room 823. Our last hotel for the last day of this China Guilin Trip before returning to Malaysia.

Xing, the young man in red shirt, taking photo of the hotel for remembrance (photo below).

Little did he realizes (I am yet to tell him the family history) that he is standing right on the home town of his Great Grandfather Wong Shin Chiang.

While he came from Malaysia to enjoyed a comfortable luxurious first ever 5 Star hotel in this BuKit Town, one hundred years ago his poverty ridden Great grandfather abandoned this very same town to seek for foods and survival in Malaysia (called Borneo then)........

..... China was in the mist of the Boxer rebellion with the rise of Doctor Sun Yatsen going against the Munchus and the Qing Dynasty was in the rim of collapse. It was in this time of unrest and uncertainty , probably around 1905-1906, a mother and a “pony-tailed” son from China landed in Kuching 古晉市 by ship via Singapore 新加坡 and under the White Rajah.....

A last look at Shenzen Bao’an International Airport.

10:32AM Shenzhen International Airport is in sight.

Checking in at the same time with our group is a team of sport man from Uzbekistan returning home after the 2010 Asian Games.

On the opposite side of the present airport. A hug construction is in progress. In the misty air, Looking from the extreme left to the extreme right, this new construction site seem to have no boundary.

Shenzhen International Airport is constructing a new Terminal 3 by Italian architects Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas. The 400,000 square meter terminal will be built in three phases, with the final elements completed in 2035.

This Construction I am seeing now is only the 1st Phase and will complete only in 2015.

Home sweet home
5:06PM Kota Kinabalu City is in sight from the air and AirAsia Flight is descending.

Looking down the window is the long stretch of beach. There is the beach with 3 white boats - one named Kit Kat, one named Fat Kat. That is the location of Seaside Traveler Inn where we will spend the night before flying home tomorrow.
