YangShuo 陽朔 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yangshuo_County Yang Shuo has four main tourist attraction items to offer to visitors. Our tour group covered all these 4 tour items though in 2 separate days :

桂林市雪域珍寶 (A tourist trap)
Today's tour activity is the highlight of the 7 days trip - Cruise of Li River in Yangsuo.
We have taken a nice breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
We are all present in the bus on the way to the famous Li Rive.
But on the way the Chinese tour guide has a good idea. She announced:
"All of your have been walking so tiring for the last few days. I will bring you for a foot massage. FREE!................" This turns out to be another tourist trap during our trip.

While those has been to China has paid a high 'School Fee' to learn what is a Tourist Trap in China, those 1st timers to China would think they are respected and serviced as VIP ........ not until when from no where suddenly a pack of Chinese medicine appeared in front you and you are expected to pay for it.... for a high price.

So, here is another story go...........

9:30-11:00AM With last minutes 'surprise' which she does each day, the tour guide send us to this yet another 'tourist trap' in Guilin... for a foot massage which she said
"No need to pay the massager any money........ the massage is free...".

But..............................

26-11-2010 Friday 2:00PM Cruising Li River at Yang Suo.

Yangshuo is one of the most visited locations for foreigners in China, and the main one is that it’s bloody gorgeous”.

This town is a smaller and more picturesque version of Guilin though it was filled with more tourists than anywhere else in China.

Li river surrounded the Karst peaks. On the river there were various fisherman with their cormorants that you could have your picture taken with - for a fee of course. We would never consider such a touristy activity and are unable to explain how we ended up with pictures of us doing this!!!

The Kurst mountains that are in the area are breathtaking and this is done at night by them being lit up by floodlights.

My are on the 5th day of China trip. In 3 days time we will be back to Kota Kinabalu City.

Yangshuo, this town is where we attended an amazing live performances another first in the world - the Impression Liu Sanjie show! Such an mesmerizing show with Incredible backdrop.

Impression Liu Sanjie Show is performed at the Li River Landscape Theatre. The theatre is located at the junction of the Li River and Tianjiahe River, facing Shutong Hill across the Li River water.

The biggest landscape theatre in the world is one of the first of its kind in the world. The theatre combine the natural settings of river and karsts mountains as the background!

First time visitors entered the seating area are amazed by that the performing stage is the beautiful real landscape in front of them.

A stage built on a river with real nature as the backdrop. Total 600 performers will come into the stage in groups after another over the water on floating platforms.

Impression Liu Sanjie is based on the famous movie "Liu Sanjie" produced in 1961. In that file Liu Sanjie (Third Sister Liu) is a legendary young beautiful farm girl of the Zhuang minority possessed a good singing voice.

In this show of Impression Liu Sanjie, it was more about a series of impressions derived from the daily life of the people in the village of Liu Sanjie. Back home many heard from traveler tales that of there is a "Guilin famous water shows", this is the show.

The 70-minute show is a grand and impressive live performances you ever seen in life! While India and USA dominated the world film industries, the Chinese dominated live performance. While films can be easily copied into a DVD and duplicated as many copy we want, we are unable to duplicate the Chinese life performers for another live show. Though we can watch their DVD at home but there is a great different viewing experience between DIGITAL SCREEN and LIVE PERFORMANCE.

Impression Liu Sanjie was directed by famous Chinese director, Zhang Yimou together with 2 other talented young directors. Zhang Yimou's shows are noted for grandness screen.

Waiting... Finally this wonderful show of lights and dances started........ the first impression is .......the Red Impression.

Then the Green Impression represents homeland.

After that, the Golden Impression of fishing boats.

Blue Impression represent love, (Love is blue, remembered ?)

and Silver Impression to represent a grand marriage ceremony before closing of the show.

At the end of the show many, including old men and young girls, asked " Are the girls naked at Impression Liu Sanjie show ?..." Well, I let the viewers to conclude their answer. But I can tell you that while the West is good in "Magic Show", the Chinese is good in "Illusion Performance"

陽朔概況:

很多到過陽朔的人都會拿出一些小東西，得意地說“是在陽朔買的”，得意炫耀，讓人羨慕，因為這些東西確實有些特別，有些別緻。確實，陽朔有很多小東西，手鐲、戒指，披肩，頭巾……很不起眼，卻很吸引人。

在陽朔一定要買的果品土特產就是:
1) “沙田柚”（購買技巧是買大不買小，買重不買輕，買尖不買圓）和
2) “月柿”（餅皮凝有一層雪白的柿蜜霜，形圓；生熟兼可食）。

漓江山水畫卷漓江是大桂林旅遊區的精華，而漓江陽朔段又是漓江的精華。乘船游江，一幅巨大的立體山水畫卷在眼前徐徐展開，遠處、近處、左右、水中的景色一起接踵而來，令人目不暇接；青山綠水，交相輝映。好一處”群峰倒映山浮水”、”船在青山頂上行”的佳境！如果湊巧趕上雨霧，那霧湧千峰的煙雨漓江的神韻更會令你心馳而神凝。
