| Cruising down the Li River in the Guilin area of China is one of
the most memorable ways to experience the natural Chinese landscape.
Imagine floating down a peaceful river, around you, rising
up on the banks of the jade-green river, countless karst peaks tower
into the sky—majestic renderings of a classical Chinese landscape.
The surrounding karst mountains are curiously eroded and worn into
fantastic shapes; their ancient limestone peaks carved with hidden
caves and gullies.
Guilin is one of the most famous areas of natural beauty in
China, and an especially prized jewel.
Cities and town
we travel during this trip have clean streets and smooth road
surface. We regularly see street cleaners sweeping
the streets. Except 2 ill feelings when in
the public : smoking in front of you and spitting on the ground
before you.
祖國我回來啦! 回來看桂林山水甲天下.......也看到了people
smoke right before my face and spite in front the path I am walking
on.
This is a
headache to the authority too. This public behavior will go on for
some years while the community leaders are doing "re-education" of the
citizen with " 文化水準低 low cultural standard" from the undeveloped villages
working in big cities.
Back in
Malaysia, we have the very same problem "Chinese Towkey spitting on streets" and
"workers smoking in public" from people who are cheap laborers from
nearby foreign countries working in Malaysia. But they do less
disgusting in Malaysia as they have their own locations of activities
and do not wondering around in tourist areas that
have international visitors.
But in China
these "low cultural standard people" are wondering every where. We
saw them smoking right in front foreign tourists in the cruise
boats, We saw one spitting inside Shenzhen International Airport
hall right
to the floor where every one walk pass with a big loud sound so
that every one can hear " Kaaaaaaarrrrr........Toooo.....". A
5000 years Cultural Nation with 5000 years backward uncivilized ape
men.
Today, for
example,
the air of Li River is
so nice and crisp
but constantly ruined by smokers who come up to the cruise deck to smoke.
I am the one spend more time then others standing
on the deck soaking in the beauty of the surroundings of
majestic mountains, waterfalls, and little villages by the water.
