Mempian Jadi Beach - The Beach of Dream Comes True

I love strolling the beach in early morning. The fresh salty sea breeze  makes me smile and sunshine on my shoulder make me happy. I have not had such a lovely leisurely beach stroll for many years.

I like being woken up by the bright sunlight hitting my face in the morning. "Wake up early to catch a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise among the mountains." I said to myself.

So when this morning woke up to a beautiful sunrise, I leave the two still sleeping children and head for the beach alone. Feeling really excited to finally be at the beach for a beautiful morning basking in sunshine.

It's a beautiful morning, and I'm here by the beach taking a stroll barefooted. Amazingly there is no another human in sight on this seemingly endless stretch of fine sandy beach with striking  horizontal skyline.

The sound of birds singing, and the soothing sounds of a deep blue sea washing gently ashore. Greeting me is a golden sunrise, coconut trees and a warm tropical breeze.

In a  tropical environment particularly beautiful in the morning, on the beach I am looking for treasures washed up  - it could be a little stone, a broken glass smoothed by sand, tiny shells and of course my hobby of seeking a drifted message.

Such physical connection with the land, the ocean, the sky and nature alone is always a wonderful experience. An experience city people deprived of. It is where I feel closest to God on a personal level through nature not through religion. Just me and my Creator, chilling and admiring His beautiful creation.

Here I lost concept of time........

I am alone but not lonely. Ocean of marine life remain mystery to me. Countless living creatures on the see shore, there are uncountable morning birds singing at bushes nearby........And here with me a hart of cows and their companion the whit XX.

They were woken up by my intrusion. These cows and white xx  spend their nights on this peaceful beach beside the sea. What a wonderful experience would be to sleep a tranquil night on soft warm sand beside calm blue sea with twinkling stars above you.

Here I lost concept of money........

"Hello world !"

There is a voice.

It wasn't me talking to the plant, was It ?

It was this new seedling greeting me, wasn't it?

Here I lost concept of life......

Mimpian Jadi  Beach boast the finest grains of white sand. But without proper human management, debris and plastic garbage littered around.

Click to this page for more about the plastic debris on the beach.

8:30 AM We had an unusual relaxed breakfast in coffee lounge. In the lounge no other customer and just our family of 3. No cigarette smoke, no noisy gossip as in other food shops we had been to.

We selected a big breakfast table beside the balcony overlooking South China Sea. Vast blue sky, deep blue sea and the white sandy beach where many wonderful moments we had.

Dark green coconut trees against the cloudless upper blue sky while snow white cloud above the deep blue sea. Such scenery is so familiar from pictures and painting we often saw but took us so long a time to be there to enjoy the beauty.

Now I understand why this resort owner gave its name "Mempian Jadi Resort", the Malay name of "Dream Comes True Resort"

9:00 AM We got back to room rushing to have a final wash up and get packed to check out. Though the check out time is 12:00 noon, we got to be in Kota Kinabalu by then.

"Can I swim for 1 minute ?" Yin requested. She is primary one and does not yet have the concept of the length of 1 minute.

"You can swim for for 30 minutes" I agreed.

She does not swim nor learn to swim. But she has been enjoying these 2 days just dipping and cooling herself in the pool with her floating ring. Sharing the spacious pool with her is only a mother and 2 children.

Being few occupants in the whole resort, there were twice as much stuff then visitors.
No one at the coffee lounge, no one at the restaurant, hardly any one at the pool.

Fresh air, blue sky, romantic coconut trees, no kiddy crowd in the pool. This is is an excellent place to soak in like own private swimming pool with spacious sundeck.

Remarks : We came back to Mimpian Jadi Resort for another 2 nights in December 2009

After a short drive, we saw the sign board to UMS, we knew we are approaching Kota Kinabalu.

Xing suggested we have lunch at the University after visiting the University's aquarum.

So we went.

UMS Aquarium & Marine Museum located inside the Borneo Marine Research Institute of the university. UMS is only 7 km from Kota Kinabalu city centre.

On the left is the muzium where more than 50 species of Bornean reef corals displayed.

On the right is the  aquariums of living fishes from the sea.aquarium with sea turtle

These fish named Remora which can grow up to 1 meter length and it placed inside an aquarium which has a taller size compare to other aquarium. .

Xing decided to stay back in the hotel to surf the internet while Yin and I take an evening walk at the nearby water front.

We stay near the waterfront to waitfor sunset from there. Lots of people sitting and waiting for the view as well.

At the water front, we found yet another beautiful sunset over the South China Sea.This sun bathed me with warm sunshine this morning, and now the same sun soak me again with equally warm rays before retiring to the deep dark ocean.

It another wonderful day in a full circle.
