Simanggang (Today Bandar Sri Aman(斯里阿曼) is a market town and port on the Lupar River  halfway between Kuching and Sarikei, it is situated in one of the few major agricultural areas of Sarawak and is  a trade center for timber, oil palm, rubber, and pepper.

Looking out from my hotel room is Batang Lupar River. It flows gracefully and silently since time immoral. Seem  no one remember the historical events that ever took place here. Let My Love flow like a river eternally.

Bus station. Bus services mainly provided Sarawak Transport Company Bhd.  The bus station is just opporsit the General Hospital across the road.

Gawai Dayak (Dayak Festivel) falls on 1st of June annually. It a day for all Iban peoplein Sarawak to celebrate the end of the harvest season. In tradition , Dayak people  will return their own longhouse (village) to celebrate Gawai Day with their families. Gawai Dayak in Sarawak is similar to Harvest Festival in Sabah. In the festival etnics celebrate their own harvest festival with a big feast at night which last till the next morning. Many local Sarawakien have taken up Christiannity. The Dayaks nowadays go to church on Gawai Day to attend a special mass to thank God for the good harvest..

Gawai Dayak public holiday usually spanning 3 days (1-3rd June). These 3 days I was in Sri Aman.

Simanggang Photo Studio No. 85, Market Road, Bandar Sri Aman, Sarawak

I walked past this studio a few times and feel familiarity with this shop. The glass display stand, especially, seem I have seen before. I remember those days I used to drop by a photo shop around here to see photos in display in a glass display stand. That shop remain in business till today. I walked in and chitchat with the young owner. He said this shop was started by his father 50 years ago.

Just as 40 years ago, photos still put on display  today for sales. I bought the following 3 photos from this old time photo shop as souvenir :
